About Pony Identification

You might be wondering why we need to be able to identify a pony? Well, this is a very interesting and useful topic because all ponies are different and recognising them is important!

When buying a horse or pony there will be a description of them on the advert - for example: 13.2hh 7-year-old, bay Welsh section A. This is a basic description that will allow us to make a decision if it is the right type of horse for us!

Horses have passports so we can recognise them and keep track of their vaccinations. The passport will contain a diagram of the horses markings and a description of them.
